Visitors are ideally placed to visit the beautiful north western part of Provence, in all its richness and variety:
- Sample local wine and food: visit the wine-growers, wineries and cellars of the Plan de Dieu, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise and many other well-known “appellations”; and buy or admire local produce in the numerous markets, held in different towns and villages throughout the week;
- Explore the history of the area: visit Vaison-la-Romaine, with its Roman and medieval remains; Vaison-la-Romaine with its Roman theatre ; the Papal Palace in Avignon; the Pont du Gard … and much more;
− Stroll in old stone-built villages, often perched high in the hills, with terrific views: Seguret, Gigondas, Crestet;
− Enjoy the festivals of theatre, opera and all types of music in Avignon, Vaison-la-Romaine, Grignan and elsewhere;
− Take advantage of the beauty of the environment here, and the sporting challenges on offer: Mont Ventoux, for walkers and cyclists; the Dentelles for walkers and climbers; the gorges of the Ardeche and the pretty River Toulourenc, a favourite with hikers.
